Using Proof On Your Sales Page

In this article I am going to discuss the kind of things you need to have on your sales page to get the best conversion rates. People like proof and being able to show this will not only increase sales but also increase your credibility.
When you create a product you are creating a solution to a specific need. People need to be convinced that your product is the solution!
Here are some types of proof that will help to prove that your product will do what you claim.
Testimonials
People who have already purchased your product and put it into action are the people you need to get testimonials from. When asking for testimonials you need to make it clear that you will use them on your sales page in future. People must agree to this.
A testimonial can include a photo, video or audio - don't just think it is has to be written.
Case studies
A case study shows the problem and the solution! It will show the gradual process of solving the original issue. Make sure that the study shows exactly how your product was used to solve the problem.
Inside look
If it is appropriate then a glimpse at your product goes down well. Perhaps you could do a video tour of your product and how it will be used. This works well for software products where you can actually demonstrate the workings of the software.
You could also use this for a membership product so that people can see inside the membership area. If your product is an ebook, then show them the table of contents and a page here and there. This is what Amazon does and therefore we can assume that it works well!
Free trial
Sometimes people need to get a free trial in order to fully appreciate what you have to offer. This will then provide the proof of whether your product will do as you say.
A free trial works best for products where there is a recurring income involved or some kind of renewal fee.
Personal Qualifications
If you have any qualifications that are relevant to your product and why you are an expert then mention them. Here are some ideas:
  • published author
  • newspaper article
  • TV interview
  • Years in niche
This is proof that you are qualified to teach on the subject.
Remember to test your sales page to see which type of proof is converting the best with your particular prospects.
