How To Set Up An Automated Sales System

In this article I am going to discuss what you need in order to set up your own automated sales system whatever niche your business might be in. Having things automated leaves you with more time to focus on the important things such as relationship building content creation.
First of all this is what you need:
  • A domain name - make this relevant to your niche or your own name if you provide services.
  • Hosting - somewhere to host your domain on.
  • Auto responder account - this is the part that automates your business!
  • Payment system - such as PayPal so that you can receive payments.
  • A free report - something that is relevant to your niche.
  • A product - try to create your own that is related to your free report.
  • A sales page - think about the reasons why someone would need your product and focus on the results and benefits.
Once you have the above in place then you can work on building your sales system.
1. Draw people in with a free gift. Your free gift will entice people to sign up to your email list. The reason why you need to build a list is so that you can communicate regularly and build up a relationship with people - all on autopilot!
2. Offer value in your emails. Just because your emails will be going out on autopilot doesn't mean that you can write just any old email. You must provide value and give a reason why people should buy from you later.
3. Offer a related product with a low price. Many people feel the need to buy something at a low price first before they will part with larger sums of money. Therefore your low priced product is a way for you to demonstrate your high quality, credibility and expertise.
4. Offer higher priced products. You can combine low priced products to create complete home study courses or monthly programs. Remember that unless you have demonstrated your worth in your emails and low priced product people will not buy high priced programs from you. You need to build trust.
Once you have your messages set up in your auto responder account and your products ready then all you need to do is to drive visitors to your free offer.
The best way to get quality visitors is to use content marketing - such as writing articles and posts, creating videos, recording podcasts and uploading slide presentations. You must be relentless at driving traffic and test to see which sources of traffic provide you with the most numbers of buyers.

How to Choose A Profitable Niche For Your Online Business

In this article I am going to discuss how to choose a profitable niche for your online business. There is a lot of conflicting information and I want to put things straight by giving the common sense approach!
It is said that there is nothing new under the sun! So how do people come up with 'new' ideas? Basically they see something that is already working and then go about changing it in some way so that it becomes new!
It is the same with niche selection. It's not about finding keywords and looking at how many searches people are making. It's about finding a niche that is already working. In other words niches that are already profitable.
So how can you do that?
An easy quick way to see if a particular niche is profitable is to do a search in Google and see if people are paying for ads. If there are ads there then it means that someone is willing to pay money to have them there and therefore they need to be making money in order to see any profits.
You're not going to pay for advertising if you aren't sure that you will make sufficient profits from that advertising.
If a niche is profitable then there must be demand from customers and they must be willing to spend money in that niche.
Another thing you can do is to see if there are forums for a particular niche. If there are forums then it means that there are people passionate enough about that niche to want to hang out and get involved in a forum.
Also if there are forums then that becomes a great place for you to get visibility to your business and offer.
There also needs to be plenty of product ideas for your niche. If you can only create one product in the niche that you have chosen then your profits will be severely limited. You need to be able to create multiple products and therefore your niche must have plenty of product ideas.
Go to amazon and see how many non fiction books there are in this niche. What are the titles about? This should give you a clear idea or whether that niche is going to work or not.
Above all I believe that you should have a genuine interest in the niche that you chose because you will need the drive to take action and get things done to build and grow your business.

What Is the Purpose of Your Internet Business?

In this article I am going to discuss about the importance of having a real purpose for your online business. Having a specific purpose and knowing what that is will help to motivate you and to give you the drive you need to get things done.
With any kind of business you are in the end helping other people whether it is providing solutions, providing physical help, manufacturing products that help people do something etc. All businesses help people in some way or another and therefore your purpose needs to be focused on helping other people to do something specific.
If you know what you can help people with then that becomes your purpose.
For example, if you are in the dog training niche and you know how to help people train their dog in a particular area then that is your purpose - to help people train their dog so that they don't need to be concerned about their house getting destroyed or their dog causing problems to other people.
Once you know what your purposes it becomes a lot clearer who your market is. In the above example your market would be people who have a dog or who are considering getting a dog. Knowing who your target market is then makes it easier for you to find out how you can communicate with them.
There are plenty of places that offer help to dog owners on the Internet and these would be ideal websites for you to visit and get involved with so that you can begin to offer valuable help. By doing so people will see you as an authority and someone who will be able to help them further.
If your purpose is focused solely on making money online then you have no direction at all. That doesn't help you to understand your target market or how to focus on your ideal customer.
Having the wrong focus and the wrong purpose can destroy any efforts you might make to build your online business.
Think about your own Internet business and the reason why you are offering what you offer. Is it purely for you to make money or is it because you are trying to help people achieve or solve something that you know how to do?
If you are not sure then just have a look at the products you are trying to sell. What do those products actually help people to do? Even if you are an affiliate and you haven't created the product yourself the products that you are trying to sell will be helping other people in some way.
Once you are clear in your mind about what solutions you are offering then you can take that as being your purpose and you will find it far easier to focus your marketing efforts in the right places and to the right people.

Is Your Business Website Working For You Or Against You?

n this article I am going to discuss what you need to have on your website so that you are making the most of your traffic. Your website is your online shop and should provide everything your customers need and also provide a good income for you.
Web form
One of the most important things to have on your website is an opt in form so that you can collect visitors email addresses. This is critical if you are going to develop the kind of relationship you need to in order for your visitors to become buyers.
Being able to send an email out to people on your email list means that you are able to communicate again and again without having to rely of them coming to visit your website repeatedly.
Income ideas
Apart from your own products you can also gain income from other sources on your website. AdSense and affiliate products are the most common types of passive income.
There is something that you need to be aware of though.
AdSense ads may detract from your own content and instead of people staying on your own site they end up clicking on an ad and they then become someone else's traffic!
Perhaps you might only put ads on certain pages rather than throughout your site. This needs to be tested to see if using AdSense is a good fit for your website and niche.
Affiliate products are only helpful to your visitors if they are relevant! Also I would recommend that they are products you use yourself and then you can justifiably promote them.
Having a resource section on your website is a great idea because your visitors will find it helpful to know what tools will be valuable to them. Free and paid for options should be included.
Interaction
There must be a way for people to interact on your website as this creates more engagement. Social media sharing, blog comments and an ask a question section are good places to start. Make sure that people can contact you directly too by having a contact page.
Variety
Include a variety of formats on your website. Some ideas are videos, audios, written, images and slides. Having a variety of visual aids will help to keep visitors on your site for longer and the longer they stay on your site the more they will be able to begin connecting with you and your information.

Are You Making The Most Of Passive Income?

In this article I am going to discuss some ideas for making the most of passive income on your website and online presence. Passive income is income you obtain on an ongoing basis with little effort on your part. Therefore it is an easy way to provide you with additional income.
Whenever you create content online always be thinking of ways that you can incorporate some source of passive income.
Relevant affiliate links
If you mention a product or tool that you use or others could use to make their job easier in some way then make sure that you link to it with an affiliate link. This only works if the items you link to are of good quality and are relevant to your visitor.
Guest posts
If you write posts for other sites ask them if you are able to use affiliate links within your post. Some sites might not allow this but others may well do especially if the links are going to be valuable to the readers.
Amazon links
Often when running an information business marketers are so focused on digital products that they forget the huge potential there is for physical products too!
Linking to products on Amazon is a great way to let Amazon do what they are good at and that is selling!
Think about your particular niche and I am sure you will be able to come up with many physical products that would be beneficial to your target market and perhaps you already use them yourself!
Your own products
If you refer to a topic and you already have a product related to that topic then don't forget to include your own sales page links. This works well in ebooks that you give away for free.
Just make sure that you don't overload any ebook with so many links that it looks obvious that you are trying to make money out of your ebook! Two or three work well.
Remember that the primary focus for anything to do with your business is to help others achieve something.
If you do use affiliate links then make sure that you use the appropriate legal pages and statements so that people are aware that you could receive a commission. Being totally transparent will not harm your reputation.
The key point to take away is to ask yourself - will adding a link here be helpful to my visitor? If the answer is yes then add one that has the potential to make you some money at the same time.

Using Proof On Your Sales Page

In this article I am going to discuss the kind of things you need to have on your sales page to get the best conversion rates. People like proof and being able to show this will not only increase sales but also increase your credibility.
When you create a product you are creating a solution to a specific need. People need to be convinced that your product is the solution!
Here are some types of proof that will help to prove that your product will do what you claim.
Testimonials
People who have already purchased your product and put it into action are the people you need to get testimonials from. When asking for testimonials you need to make it clear that you will use them on your sales page in future. People must agree to this.
A testimonial can include a photo, video or audio - don't just think it is has to be written.
Case studies
A case study shows the problem and the solution! It will show the gradual process of solving the original issue. Make sure that the study shows exactly how your product was used to solve the problem.
Inside look
If it is appropriate then a glimpse at your product goes down well. Perhaps you could do a video tour of your product and how it will be used. This works well for software products where you can actually demonstrate the workings of the software.
You could also use this for a membership product so that people can see inside the membership area. If your product is an ebook, then show them the table of contents and a page here and there. This is what Amazon does and therefore we can assume that it works well!
Free trial
Sometimes people need to get a free trial in order to fully appreciate what you have to offer. This will then provide the proof of whether your product will do as you say.
A free trial works best for products where there is a recurring income involved or some kind of renewal fee.
Personal Qualifications
If you have any qualifications that are relevant to your product and why you are an expert then mention them. Here are some ideas:
  • published author
  • newspaper article
  • TV interview
  • Years in niche
This is proof that you are qualified to teach on the subject.
Remember to test your sales page to see which type of proof is converting the best with your particular prospects.

Are You Using Techniques That Are To Proven Work Long Term?

If you are building an online business then you will come across many different methods and systems of doing so. Some are proven to work and others sound great but may include risky techniques. In this article I am going to discuss some of the techniques you should be using.
It is known that the best techniques to follow in your marketing campaigns are what are known as White Hat strategies as opposed to dodgy ones.
White Hat Techniques
These are strategies and techniques that are proven to work and follow business practices that are considered ethical and trustworthy. There is no manipulation going on or ways to influence results by finding loopholes in the systems.
Since this is the case these techniques last long term and can be relied upon to be effective many years from now.
Dark & Dodgy Techniques
These should be avoided altogether and are generally illegal in nature such as stealing or pirating someone else's products.
This also includes trying to manipulate results in the search engines by implementing techniques that are against the rules.
Helping Others
If you are to stay on the right path then your focus must be in helping others rather than trying to find gain for yourself.
For example:
If you write content and are focused on providing the reader with valuable information then you will write an article that uses the right kind of words naturally. People will visit and you will get rankings based on your valuable content.
If you write content focused on making sure that you rank at the top on the search engines then you will automatically be vulnerable to manipulating your content in some way. It might work for a short period of time but long term you will get caught out and then your traffic goes overnight!
In the end you need to ask yourself if you are trying to build a sustainable business or just trying to make money using the latest craze.
Here are some of the practices that last:
  • original valuable content that is focused on benefiting the reader
  • building meaningful and trusting relationship with prospects
  • being honest and transparent
  • under promise and over deliver
  • providing value consistently
  • being yourself
  • creating quality product that focus on solving current needs
Think of your online business as a real business and then you will focus on being professional in all areas and create something that you can be proud of.

Are You Addicted To Buying Internet Marketing Products?

Are you addicted to buying Internet marketing products? In this article I am going to discuss why this is bad for you and your online success and what you can do about it.
There are many Internet marketing products on the market and new ones come out every day promising certain things such as more money, more traffic, more subscribers, etc. The sales letters have been written in such a way as to entice you to press the buy now button and buy into the promises that are made in the sales letter. However, many of these products are either the same as those before them, or they are new fads.
One thing we know about fads is that they never stick around for long, they are here one day and gone the next.
However, there is a huge amount of satisfaction from buying something that sounds really good and that everyone else is buying into and that feel good factor can cause many people to become addicted to buying Internet marketing products.
If you are one of those then think about the following.
What have you bought?
Have a look in your bank account or PayPal account and look back over the last six months or year to see how much money you have spent on Internet marketing products. You might be surprised at how much you are actually spending!
There is nothing wrong with purchasing training material that is going to train and teach you and to improve your knowledge and skills. However, if you are not increasing your online success and basically that comes down to making money, then are those products really worth it?
What have you made?
Now I want you to have a look at how much money you have actually made during that same time period. This might be a little bit more difficult for you and if it is then one thing you need to do straight away is to create a spreadsheet so that you actually monitor what money you are making.
Have a look at the two values. How much you have spent and how much you have made? Are you in profit at the end of the day?
What to do about it
Building an online business is about developing your own set of skills and becoming an expert in what you do. If the products that you purchase is not improving your self-development then are they going to be worth it in the long run?
There will always be times when we need to find out how to do something but if you don't relate that back to your business and how to incorporate it so that you develop your business mindset then is that product worth it?
Next time you are presented with a sales page just think about what is being offered and whether it will actually develop your business or whether you will be buying into a fad. Also ask yourself, are you willing to put in the effort to implement what you learn because it doesn't matter how great a product is, unless you actually take action you will never see success.

Business Mindset: Are You A Buyer Or A Seller?

In this article I am going to discuss the business mindset. Are you a buyer or a seller? Are you acting like a prospect or a marketer?
One of the easiest ways to get distracted with the latest Internet marketing craze is having the wrong mindset. There are two very different mindsets that people have and they can be called many things.
The first mindset I want to discuss is the make money mindset. If you are continually thinking about making money and that is what is driving you to be successful online then you are probably making a huge mistake.
When your mind is based on making money, by default you become a prospect. Someone who is looking to make money as quickly as possible. Someone who is seeking riches and this type of thinking creates a buyer mindset. This means that you are more likely to purchase products and be on the lookout for the newest, latest fad on making money online.
The second mindset is the business mindset. This is where you are concerned about running your business, improving your business and developing your skills. You will also be thinking about how you can communicate your business message effectively to others so that they become a customer.
When you have a business mindset, by default you become the marketer. The person that is providing the opportunity, the person who is ultimately the seller.
Basically all we are talking about is focus. If your focus is on how you can make more money then you will be on the lookout for products that promise to satisfy your focus.
If your focus is about helping others so that they connect with you and develop a relationship with you so that they become your customer, then you will be on the lookout for opportunities to develop those relationships and to market yourself.
Ultimately you need to ask yourself the question:
Are you a make money person or are you trying to build a real business online? If it is the latter but you have not seen any success and are still buying product after product then you need to change your mindset to that of a business mindset.
Choose one successful person to learn from and follow that person and implement what they do and what they teach and begin to develop to your own focus on marketing your own business.

Why You Need To Invest In Yourself To Build A Real Business

Are you trying to build an online business but there seems to be something missing? You know all the steps but things are not developing as you hoped they would? In this article I want to discuss why that might be and talk about investing in yourself.
When you first begin an online business it is common that we tend to look at what we need to do and spend time learning technical aspects so that we get our website up and running and we begin to create products.
You can see a certain amount of success by just following step-by-step instructions. However, if you want to build a real business then you need to begin to invest in yourself.
If you think about it and you think about the off-line world there are people who work in the marketing department, IT, human resources, research and development, and many other departments.
When you run an online business and you work on it alone you have to take on the role of all of these departments. If you just focus on technical skills then you will be lacking in other areas and therefore your business will not be as effective as it could be.
Therefore there comes a point at which you need to decide to invest in your self-development.
If you are lacking in marketing skills then you need to invest some time learning how to market effectively. How to sell a product and how to use language that will engage people and compel them to take action.
Every business is dynamic and therefore keeping up-to-date with the latest in your particular niche is very important. This might mean finding a coach or mentor who is able to keep you up-to-date with the latest strategies and practices.
You often hear that knowledge is power. One thing is for sure and that is unless you have the knowledge and expertise you will not be able to build or grow your business. With an information business you need to continually add to your knowledge so that you are able to offer solutions to a whole range of issues that your target market might have.
You see there are many things that you need to do or tasks that need doing to run and build your online business and often people are so busy doing things such as driving traffic, creating products and writing emails that they forget to invest and spend time developing themselves.

Ideas On How To Brand Your Website

In this article I am going to discuss how you can go about branding your business website. Once you fully understand what your brand is then you can begin to convey that message on your website.
It is possible that you will already have a website up and running. You can either choose to create a new website or you can update your existing website with your brand. If you are already getting traffic then it would make sense to update your existing website if the name will work.
Domain Name
First of all you need to think about your domain name. Either you will be branding yourself or a company.
If you are a coach or trainer then it would be a good idea to use your own name as your website domain since you are branding yourself.
If you want to brand a company then choose a name that will give visitors a rough idea of what your company is about or what you offer. It will be easier for people to remember if it relates to your particular niche.
Choose a.com extension since this has worldwide authority in the search engines. If your targeted audience is within a specific country then you could use that country extension instead. For example, if you target the UK market then you could use.co.uk.
The Design
The design of your website must convey the brand message. The colours should be specific to your niche topic.
For example, if you are in the health niche then you would use green as that is the color associated with health. For a professional service business you could use black, grey or blue as they tend to be associated with trust and professionals.
Think about the images you use on your site as these can be a good way to brand your website. If you are in an artistic niche then your site should show plenty of artistic features such as photos and images.
For a fitness niche your website would have pictures of healthy food and people doing exercise.
If you choose to include a logo on your website then again this should fit in with your niche. Think about the colors and any image that you could use that would connect well to your business. Using a logo is a great way to brand your website and anything else that you use to market your business. If you can find an image that sums up what your business stands for then that is a huge bonus.

What Is Cross Selling and Why Should You Use It?

In this article I am going to discuss how to increase your sales by using cross selling. I shall describe what it is and how to use it effectively in your marketing efforts.
Cross selling is where you have a product let's call it Product A and when someone has placed the order you then offer a similar priced product that is related to product A. Let's call it product B.
The reason why people use this is because once someone has made a decision to buy they are in a buying frame of mind. If you offer them something else that is related and that they might also need they are more likely to purchase because they are in that buying mode.
Therefore you can potentially increase your sales revenue by cross selling.
I would recommend that you test this out in your particular niche with your customers to see if it increases your sales. However, don't overdo it. If every product has some kind of a cross sell then I believe you will begin to put people off because it just looks as if you are selling too aggressively.
This is something that you can do every now and again. If you know that another similarly priced product might be of benefit to someone purchasing product A then offer it.
This type of selling technique is also seen in the off-line world. For example, suppose you purchase a new TV. It is likely that the shop assistant will suggest that you might like to purchase some type of insurance cover for the TV. It's not absolutely necessary but it would be of benefit to you if you did.
However, how do you feel when this happens every time you purchase something? This has been my own experience in some stores and it begins to annoy me and I immediately turn off and say no without thinking too much about it!
So be careful, as the last thing you want to do is it annoy your customers! Also you don't want them to turn off their buying frame of mind because they are expecting some sort of offer. So once in a while is best.
If this type of selling works offline then it will work just as well online. Just make sure that your product B is related to product A and will be of benefit to the purchaser.

What Is Up Selling And Why Should You Use It?

In this article I am going to discuss how to increase your sales by using up sells. I shall describe what this is and how to use it effectively in your marketing efforts.
Up selling is where you have one product (product A) and another product (product B). Product B will be an upgraded version of product A.
So when someone goes to purchase product A and they place their order you then offer an upgrade to the higher priced product B. It could be a home study course.
So for example, if product A is $27 and is training on one particular topic you could offer an upgrade to product B which is a complete home study course for $97 that covers four different topics rather than just the one topic.
Your upgrade could be a premium version or more advanced training program. You could present an upgrade which includes extras such as videos to demonstrate what is included in the training program.
When someone goes to purchase any product online then at the moment they press the buy now button, they are in a buyers state of mind. If you offer something else at that specific moment then people will seriously consider it. Therefore it can be a good way to increase your overall sales.
Using up sells is a technique that you should test in your own business to see what kind of results you obtain and how it influences your customers. It is not something that you should do with every single product you create but every now and again having an up sell can be of benefit to both you and your customer.
One way to offer an up sell is it offer it at a special discount if purchased at that particular time. This can persuade some people to upgrade for fear of the price being higher if they want it at a later date.
However, if you do offer it as a one time special discount then you must uphold that. Many marketers present a one time offer but in reality is it always available at that particular price. So it ends up being an on going one time offer!
This marketing tactic is seen offline as well as online and therefore people are fairly used to seeing an upgrade offered. However, it only works well if the upgrade provides added benefits and compliments the original product. It shouldn't be a necessity in order for the first product to be beneficial or useful.

Creating An Optimised System To Increase Conversions

Optimising everything that you do so that you become more and more efficient is critical if you are going to be able to scale up your business. You need to have a very specific system in place which will target specific people.
Suppose you follow the process:
  • Write content
  • Offer a free gift to gain subscribers
  • Write an email campaign
  • Promote your product with link to sales page
Everything must follow on from the previous step.
Everything Must Flow
Your free gift needs to be related to the content or the niche category that you have written about. It needs to be related so that people who wanted to read it, will then be interested to obtain your free gift which is going to help them more on that subject.
Once people opt in to your email list you need to develop trust and provide valuable content. Then you need to offer something that is related to the reason why they joined your list in the first place. It must follow on if you want to see an increase in your conversion rate.
By just making sure everything follows on as I have described you will see an increase in your results and you will be optimising your system and making it more effective.
Be Specific
If you make things general you will see your conversion rates go down. Make things more specific and you will get more targeted traffic and subscribers. Therefore your subscribers are higher quality and therefore more likely to become buyers.
It is not so much about the quantity of traffic or the quantity of subscribers, it is about the quality.
The reason why your conversion and opt in rates go up is because you are offering something specific to a group of individuals who have that specific need.
Fill In Gaps
Make sure there are no gaps in your product funnel. Communicate with your subscribers to find out what else they need. If they need something and you don't deliver on that then they will go and find someone else who can.
Some people will remain loyal. However, if someone is offering something that they need you you haven't bothered to find that out and create a product to solve it, then the need becomes greater than the loyalty to you!
This is why it is so important that you develop an interactive relationship with your subscribers so that you are always delivering value.

Testing Your System To Optimise Results

In this article I am going to discuss what you need to test in order to optimise your system. Being successful online is far easier if you test and track everything you do because then you know what needs improving.
Squeeze Page
Your squeeze page has one purpose and that is to encourage people to sign up to your list. If you have any other options on that page than you will see your opt in rate go down. There must be one action only.
Your bullet points must convey a good enough reason why someone should sign up to your list. Focus on the benefits that someone would receive if they signed up to your list. If you are offering a free ebook as your incentive then what are the benefits of reading that ebook? What results might someone obtain?
Your heading must be interesting and relevant to your target market.
Email Campaign
When you sign up to an Autoresponder account you will get certain statistics of what is happening with your emails. You will be able to see:
  • the open rate - that is how many people are actually opening your email to read it
  • the click through rate - that is the rate at which people once they have opened your email then clicks on the link that you have put in your email (e.g. a link to your sales page)
Look at those statistics and any emails that are not getting opened just alter the subject heading as it is not compelling people to open and read your email.
The emails that are opened but are getting a low click through rate, remove them and replace them with a different email. Change the content and make it more engaging. The subject line is probably fine but perhaps you haven't delivered what you promised in that heading.
Sales Page
Again the header needs to stand out, be specific and targeted to your market. It must generate interest and engage the visitor to continue reading.
Using a story in your sales page is a good idea as people will want to get to the end to find out what happened and how you overcame something. It is human nature to be curious.
Focus on the benefits and the results that people will experience for themselves to sell your product.
So the three main testing areas are your squeeze page, your sales page and your email campaign. You need to be testing and tracking your results so that you can optimise them so that you know that you are working at maximum efficiency.
By just testing you will automatically scale up your business and become more successful.

Internet Marketing - Effective Selling Process

In this article I am going to look at how you go about actually selling something. If you are an internet marketer then you need to understand how to sell effectively.
Unless you come from a sales background you can get stuck with your internet business because you don't know how to sell something effectively.
Finding Solutions To Needs
First of all you have to go away and look to see what kind of help people are looking for and what kind of needs there are. In an information business you're looking at struggles that people are having and providing the information and help that they need to solve that problem so that they can move forward.
There needs to be a demand and customers that are willing to spend money. If there is already a product out there then find out what is lacking and then put your own stamp on it to create a better one.
Targeting Buyers
The next step is to build a relationship with people who need what you've got to offer. You're looking for targeted people who are involved in your particular niche in some way. Find out where these people are actively online looking for help and solutions and get involved in those same places.
Relationship & Trust
Offer help naturally and people will soon come to you for more help. Make sure that you have a way for people to join your email list so that you can continue to offer help and build upon the trust you have already a gained.
You must focus on it being an interactive relationship because that develops huge trust.
Offering Help
Now you come to the actual selling bit. If you think of it as offering help then you will find it far easier and you will come across more helpful too.
When you have a business and sell products or services you are always going to help someone in some way. So when you are promoting or selling a product you are actually helping a specific person achieve something or do something.
Focus on the benefits that someone is going to have and how the results that they will see are going to impact them positively. It's not about the features but how your product will solve the problem that someone has.
You should mention the features because people need to know what they are getting but don't focus on them as they will not sell your product.

The Emotional Element Of Selling

Being able to sell something online relies not only on creating a good quality product that people want but also on how you sell it. In this article I want to discuss the emotional element of selling and how you can go about incorporating it into your sales process.
The Need
First of all you are providing a solution to a specific need. That need or struggle with have certain emotions attached to it.
If you have been in that place yourself where you have needed to overcome something then think back to how you felt before you had found out a solution to your problem.
Using emotive language will help your customers to understand and relate to the problem you are describing. It will enable those who have yet to realise that they even need help to discover that they too need a solution.
Being able to put yourself in your customers shoes is an important part of selling any product. You need to understand exactly what you are solving so that you can relate to the emotions that people feel when stuck without the solution.
Use words such as frustrating, annoying, overwhelming, fed up, tired, at a loss, angry, sad, etc. All of these words conjure up some form of emotion that people can relate to.
The Solution
Now focus on the solution. Think about how you would feel if you no longer had that particular problem. What words and feelings come to mind?
Again you will want to help your customers to relate to the feelings associated with no longer struggling with that issue.
In order for your product to be worth something to someone you need to be clear on what results specifically they will get. Go into the emotional element of how it would feel to be able to do such and such. Being able to experience the joy and relief or the confidence that they would have once they have solved that problem.
The Call To Action
Then you need to tell your customer what to do. You need to make it clear that they should take action. Again there is an emotional element you can add. Getting instant access and solving the problem today builds anticipation of getting rid of the problem quickly. Relief and achievement are compelling.
Effective selling is about offering specific help and being clear how your product solves a problem.

Testing Your Marketing Efforts

In this article I'm going to discuss why you need to test your marketing efforts. Knowing what you can do to improve and scale up your results is important if you are going to be more effective and efficient at running your business.
Unless you actually test and track your results then you will have no idea what needs improving! One of the things that people often think is that if you want to scale things up in your business and make more money then you need to increase the number of products or increase the amount of traffic.
Although these things will increase and scale things up if you start doing this before you've actually done any testing then you will waste a huge amount of time and effort.
You can scale things up by just tweaking or optimizing aspects of your business.
For example, if your squeeze page converts at 10% then if you can change something on that squeeze page such that you now double it and it converts at 20%, you will double your results without having to drive more visitors to your squeeze page.
The same amount of traffic but twice as many people now become subscribers.
You could change the headline or bullet points on your squeeze page and see if that makes any difference in your opt in rate. Doing this is probably going to take up less of your time and effort than trying to double the number of visitors to your squeeze page - constantly.
If you've got a certain amount of traffic coming through to your sales page it is far better to make a change to that sales page to increase your conversion rate than it is to increase the number of visits to that page.
You could tweak the headline and spend more time talking about the benefits and the results that people are going to experience if they purchase your product.
Now think about your email campaign. It is better to remove the low performing emails and add new ones until you reach your optimal result. You would check the open rate and the click through rate and see if you can improve on them.
Just by these implementing changes you will see a dramatic increase in results and the amount of time and effort you need to put into maintaining these results is much less than having to continually work at driving more and more traffic.
