Why You Need To Know The Purpose Of Your Communication

In this article I am going to talk a little bit about the purpose of your communication. Every communication that you have with your subscriber, with your prospect or with anyone else to do with your business, needs to have a specific purpose behind it.

This is usually some kind of an action or message that you want people to take or to hear. The message that you are communicating in terms of your business brand and your values and beliefs and also your product solutions needs to be focused on the benefit there is to someone if they do business with you. Then you need to make it clear what actions they should take.

Here are some steps you might take:

Awareness
Make people aware of what your business stands for and what is unique about you. You might communicate this on your website, there is content online or in your email campaign.

Relationships
Once people are aware of what it is you offer and show some interest you need to begin to connect with them and to develop a relationship. If you are using our email campaigns and so is then it becomes very easy to do so. You can offer valuable content and provide help and advice throughout the campaign.

As people start to receive and read your emails they can begin to connect with you and build up a picture of whether you would be the right person for them to learn something from what to do business with.

Building trust is necessary if you are going to make any sales in the future.

Identifying Needs
part of your relationship building process will be to learn more about your customer and to learn more about the things that they need. This means being able to identify the areas that your subscribers or finding difficult and are searching for help on.

Offering Solutions
As you become aware and you identifying the various needs that your subscribers have you can then begin to present solutions. Every product that you create will be a solution to a specific problem. Since you have already developed the trust and built an awareness of what your business stands for when you come to offer a solution your subscribers will be more likely to take notice.

Call to action
The final step will be your call to action. It will be a sentence specifically telling someone what they need to do. This is of course based on what the purpose is behind that call to action. Whether it is to purchase a product, to download a free gift, want to click on a link.

Making People Aware Of Your Business

In this article I am going to discuss communicating awareness of your business and the solutions you provide. You need to make sure that people are fully aware of what your business and brand is and exactly what it is that you offer.

You will need to inform your target audience of the benefits and values that you represent as the product creator and solutions that you actually provide.

The first step towards someone taking any action is being aware and having a reason why they need to be taking that action!

With more and more competition online you need to make more effort to communicate the benefit of your business and make people aware of them so that they can make an informed choice to purchase from you rather than your competition.

Every piece of content that you write can convey some message about your business. Every action that you take will also convey a message.

When you are the business owner and also the product creator it becomes much easier to present a consistent message. No one knows your business better than you and of course no one knows your products better than you if you have created them yourself.

You should be in a position to be able to identify what it is that makes you and your products unique so that you can present that message to your prospects.

One of the easiest ways to send repeat messages is to develop an email campaign when you continually provide valuable content and you are available to provide help when needed.

However, you need to make people aware of your business first in order for them to become a subscriber.

The best way of communicating any message online is by using content. That could be written, it could be an audio or it could be video. These are the ways that you can make people aware of your business and begin to connect with your target market.

Find out where your target market are likely to be active online, for example, what types of websites will they be visiting? See if there is a way for you to add content so that you can communicate and make people aware of what you offer.

Your own website should also have content on so that people can find help by visiting your site. Over time your website will build authority as you create more and more content on it and a larger number of people will visit your site using a search engine.

Convincing People They Need Your Product

In this article I am going to discuss why you need to convince people that they need your product. Not everyone will realise that they even have a need in the first place!

Providing the solution to a specific need first relies on people understanding that they need the solution. Sometimes you need to convince people that they actually have a problem!

There are times when people don't actually realise that there is something stopping them from moving forward or achieving success. There might be a particular obstacle in the way and you've got the solution to it but you have to convince people and open their eyes to the fact that it affects them!

Here is an example:

Suppose you have been going to the gym for weeks and week and you've been doing the same routine again and again that you were told to do and nothing seems to be changing. You don't seem any further forward or making progress.

Then someone comes up to you and says - I know exactly what you need - you need to be doing a specific type of stretching movement. That will then enable you to move on and achieve a higher level of fitness.

Unless someone makes you aware that you need to be doing that particular stretch you would be stuck not realising that there was an easy solution.

It can be the same with your prospects. Therefore when you provide the solution, you need to communicate what the problem is and why someone might have that problem. You need to be able to make it clear so that people can identify with it and make the connection.

Then you can present your product as the solution to that need and you will then see that your conversion rates start increasing because you have opened people's eyes to the concept of why they are not progressing and what their need is.

Not all communication is straight forward. There are times when you have to really get inside your prospects mind to discover the best way to communicate what it is you have to offer and why they need it. The more you develop a relationship with your prospects the easier it will be for you to understand where they are coming from.

Understanding your potential customers is one of the best ways to see success in your online business.

What Call to Action Are You Using?

In this article I am going to discuss using a call to action. Every one you create must have a specific purpose if it is going to be effective.
Your call to action might be for your subscrobers to just purchase the product that you've been talking about. Whatever your request is, you need to make sure that you are very specific and clear as to what you want someone to do.
Fist you need to have been working on making your prospects aware of what you can offer and building a trusting relationship with them. If you don't do that background work then you call to action will fall on deaf ears.
Suppose you have written something in your email and you want your subscribers to click on a link that you have included and to go through to your sales page. You need to make that action clear and concise.
You would write something like this:
  • click on the link to find out more about xyz
  • click on the link to visit my website where you will get more information
Your call to action may not always be for someone to actually purchase a product. Here are some other purposes you might use it for:
  • download a free report
  • dial a telephone number
  • receive a newsletter
  • read an article
  • watch a video
  • listen to an audio
  • fill out a survey
It's not always going to be about a product for people to purchase. Therefore you need to make it clear and specific what you want the person to do.
When you add a call to action it is a good idea to use assertive language that actually tells the person what to do. When reading something online and someone says do this, people generally go ahead and do it. It is as if they go into autopilot mode!
If you use assertive language, people are far more likely to click on that link or whatever your call to action is.
Make sure that your call to action is short and it is clear. Don't use a long winded sentence because by the time people get to the end they will have forgotten what they had to do!
Also only present one option. Either they take that action or they don't. If you give people too many options in your call to action then they are unlikely to take any!

How to Communicate With Your Prospects

In this article I want to discuss how to communicate so that you start building a strong relationship with prospects, so that you can build trust and build credibility as well.
What you need to remember is that when you build relationships is not about you. It's not about how brilliant you are or what you can offer in a boastful "in your face" way. It's about your customer. It is about what you can provide for them that's going to be beneficial to them.
What can you add to your relationship that is going to show your customer that you are knowledgeable? How will you demonstrate that you are able to help them, you can be trusted and that you are a real person? Someone who is going to be able to give them personal help when they need it.
So always remember that when you communicate, in whatever way that might be, it's not about you, it's always about your customer. Your relationship must be based on providing your customer with everything that they need in order to make an informed decision about doing business with you or making that purchase.
This is a simplified version of the process. You need to communicate so that your prospects understand exactly what it is you offer.
  • What your services are
  • What your products are
  • What kind of solutions your products solve
  • What your values are
  • What benefits customers are going to experience
  • What results they are going to achieve
That's what you need to communicate. You need to communicate the benefit's to your customers so they understand exactly what to expect.
You need to give them a specific call to action when you communicate. It might be a squeeze page for building your list and you want them to give you their name and email address.
It might a sales page and you want them to click the buy button.
It might be in your email campaign and you want them to visit an article you have written.
You need to make sure that whatever the action is that you want your customer or your subscriber to take that you specifically ask them to take that action.
Use instruction words such as:
  • press the button now
  • click here to visit my website
  • download your product by clicking the link below
You need to make it specific and very clear as to what the action is.
You also need to persuade them to take the action. You need to have a reason why they might want to take that action so its got to benefit your customer.
In order to follow to communicate like this you really need to know your customer as much as possible.

How to Get to Know Your Customers Better

In this article I am going to discuss how to get to know your customers well. You need to be able to identify with them and have in your mind a real live individual in front of you.
This enables you to really target your communication and offers. You need to know the kind of issues they are facing and what things they are really struggling with. What kind of help are they are looking for.
You can do that by going online and visiting forums and discussion groups, then being interacting to find out the kind of things that people are talking about and struggling with. However, once you have your own email list or your own following, then this becomes much easier. You can actually ask your subscribers for feedback and help.
Customer Feedback
Supposing someone has purchased a product from you and you ask for feedback. I've discovered that people either provide feedback if something is really bad or if they have really built a positive two way relationship with you.
So if you get no feedback it isn't necessarily a bad thing. As you obtain more and more customers you will find that you get feedback from those who have developed an interactive relationship with you. You may also find that feedback will be from people who are likely to be your repeat customers.
Interactive Emails
Ask your subscribers questions in your emails. Ask them what things they are struggling with at the moment. Always ask questions to keep that channel of communication open. The more interaction you get, the more you will be able to understand exactly what your customer needs are and what their current challenges are.
A Survey
You could add a survey and ask people to answer specific questions. You could provide an incentive for taking the survey but I've discovered that if you do this then you generally get people who are just interested in getting a freebie rather than giving you real answers in the survey.
I have found one of the best times to take a survey is actually at the point when people sign up to your email list.
If you do a survey then make sure that your questions are highly specific so that the answers you obtain are useful to you.
When you're developing relationships with your customers you need to focus on a two-way relationship so that you can get to know them better.

How to Organize Your Workload to Be Most Productive

In this article I am going to describe how you might be able to organise your work load so that you are the most productive. Being busy is not necessarily being productive and so you need to organise what you are going to do based on what is most important to you to achieve your goals.
There are many things that need doing in your workday but if you had a look at your list of things to do you would know that some things on that list are more important than others.
In order to really understand which tasks are more important you need to know what your goals are. If you don't have any goals you won't know which tasks are the ones that are going to bring you closer to your goal.
In reality you might have lots of goals and each of those goals combined will bring you closer to your ultimate goal. Therefore when you look at your workload you need to decide which of those goals are the most important at that particular time.
Have a look at the various areas in your business to see which ones are lagging behind or which areas are not bringing you the best results. Those would be the items that you really need to work on to bring you closer to that particular goal. Remember that you will never achieve your ultimate goal unless all of your other goals have been achieved. If there is one thing that is holding you back then that becomes your most important task.
Your most important task must be the thing that you do first. At the start of your workday you have the most mental energy and therefore you need to use that effectively and use it on your most important task.
When you organise your work load so that you always do the most important things first you automatically become more productive because the most important thing that you need to work on will be the one thing that will give you the most results. Therefore by default you become more productive.
Don't get caught up in the notion that doing lots of different tasks is being productive. You might be able to achieve 10 different things on a particular day but if none of those things are actually bringing you closer to your goal and therefore closer to the results that you want to see, then that day has not been productive.

Online Business - Why Writing In a Diary Is Beneficial

Many people use a diary as a to-do list. In fact you can buy diaries that are specifically for this purpose whereby you can write in them what you need to do each day. In this article I want to talk about using a diary for work purposes but not as a to-do list.
Whether you work at home or not, using a diary can be helpful. Although this article is aimed at those who have an online business what I am about to suggest would help anyone achieve something that they really want to.
I like to use a diary as a journal. I use it to write down exactly what I have done and what I have achieved. So instead of using it to list the things I need to do, instead I use it to write down the things I have actually done.
For me this is far more useful as a tool to motivate me to continue taking action. One of the most difficult things when you work at home is being able to keep focused and to be productive in your workday.
If at the end of every day you had to talk to a real person and tell them exactly what you had achieved and you were accountable to that person, do you think you would actually get more done? I believe you would be far more productive if you knew that at the end of the day someone was going to be questioning you and what you had actually achieved.
I like to use my diary in this way. My diary is making me accountable because I have to write in it what I've done. If I haven't had a very productive day and there's not a lot that I can write in my diary it doesn't look very good.
However, if I have had a really productive day and I have achieved a lot of goals then writing that in my diary makes me feel much better and gives me the motivation to have another productive day.
The key thing about keeping a diary in this way is that there is one rule. That rule is that I can only write the tasks that have actually drawn me closer to my goal. In an online business this would only be the tasks that have increased my business because my goal is to build my business and grow it bigger and bigger.
By having this as a rule it means that I can't fill my diary with lots of things that I have done that in fact were not productive such as surfing, writing emails, spending time on Facebook. etc.

Coming Up With a Writing Plan for Content

Writing content online has proved an extremely effective way of marketing any online business. In this article I want to discuss how you can come up with a writing plan for your content so that you can stay focused and be productive.
I have found that many people when they begin to start writing content have many ideas and are motivated to take action. However, it isn't long before those ideas run out and they then get stuck. If you can come up with some kind of writing plan then you will be far more able to produce the content that you need to and market your business.
First of all decide how much time you have every day that you can set aside specifically for writing content. Once you know that you have a specific time allocated towards writing content you then know that every day you can put the timer on, start writing and only finish once that allotted time has come to an end.
Find out how many pieces of content or articles you can write in that amount of time. I have found that it is far more effective if I think of writing a number of articles rather than spending a specific amount of time writing. However, if you don't know how much time you have available each day to write you won't know how many articles realistically you will be able to write. Therefore find out how many articles you can write in the amount of time you have available to you every day.
Now that you know the number of articles you will write each day it becomes easier to plan. For example if you are able to write five articles each day then you need to come up with five titles. Once you have five titles then you can break the article down using ideas such as how, why, when and where to help you focus on what you're going to write about.
It is much easier if you decide the titles for your articles the day before so that they are already there for you when you come to spend your time writing content. This is important because often you can spend a long time just thinking of titles and if you only have a certain amount of time allocated to writing the content you might not be able to write the number of articles you want to each day.
To come up with title ideas use the Internet! Begin searching Google on a particular topic and see what words Google suggests. Just type in the topic word and Google will fill in the rest automatically. This is a good way of coming up with title suggestions that you know will be popular. You can also visit forums and discussion groups for ideas of questions that people are asking that you could then write articles on.

How to Stay Focused on Internet Marketing

Do you have an online business and need to promote it? Sometimes it's not about knowing what you need to do on Internet marketing it's about staying focused so that you actually do it. In this article I am going to discuss some ways that you can stay focused on your Internet marketing efforts.
Vision
What is your vision? Do you have a picture in your mind of what your business will look like when it is successful? Have you thought about this in detail? If you don't have a clear idea of what the business is going to look like how can you actually achieve it?
It's like going on a car journey and if you don't know where your destination is you won't know how to get there and you won't even know if you have arrived!
Having an online business is exactly the same. You need to know exactly where it is you are heading. You have to have a clear idea in your mind of what that looks like.
Things like:
  • how many products will you have
  • will you have a coaching program
  • how will you communicate with people
  • how many subscribers do you want
  • how much money do you want to generate each month.
Those are the kinds of questions you need to answer so that you have a better idea of what your business is going to look like.
Passion
You need to be passionate about your business. You need to know the reason why you want to be a success and that reason must be something that is not selfish but rather is going to be of benefit to others.
Who is it you want to help and why do you want to help them? If you are really passionate about what you do and the benefits that people will have if they purchase your products then you will be far more motivated to take action.
Discipline
In every area of our lives we need some kind of discipline and with an online business where you work at home, discipline is essential.
Working at home there are many distractions and working online there are many distractions. You need to be disciplined so that you get on and do the things you need to do to build your business. Being busy isn't necessarily being productive.
How are you going to make sure that you stay disciplined and actually take action? It might mean sacrificing something but if your passion is there you will have the drive to do it.

Can You Really Make Money Online? The Truth

Everybody wants to know can you really make money online? Well, the answer is yes. The hard part is knowing what will work and what won't. In this article I want to discuss one of the best ways to make money online if you are looking for a long-term sustainable income.
If you do a search in Google for "make money online" you will come up with many websites that promise many things. Some of the methods or systems that you hear about may work but the problem comes when you are looking for something that is more long term.
It seems that there are two types of people. The first type just want to make money online and if it happens quickly then that's great and that's all they are concerned about. Then there is the second type of person who wants an actual business. They want to create something that is going to stand the test of time.
So the question is what is it you actually want? Are you looking for a business that you can be proud of, that you can promote, that you can build on, that you can scale up and that ultimately will be your source of full time income or are you just wanting to make some money online?
I shall assume that you are actually looking for something long term.
The selling of information is profitable and highly suited for an online business. People use the Internet every day to find out information and since we live in a world that demands information quickly being able to purchase that information that is already packaged up nicely for us is something that we are prepared to pay for.
Therefore if you build an online business providing information you will find that you are able to build a long-term sustainable business.
The important thing is to choose what information it will be. If you choose the wrong type of information you may not make as much money as someone else who has taken the time to do some market research and to find out the kind of information that is going to sell well.
There are certain niches that are extremely popular and selling information in those niches is pretty much going to be sure to bring profits if you know what you're doing and you know how to target your customer.
However if you feel that you don't want to go into such a competitive niche then there are plenty of other topics that people are desperate for information on. Just go to Amazon and look at the non fiction books there and the categories they are under and it will give you plenty of ideas of topics that are selling well.
In order to make money for yourself you need to be committed to putting in the effort daily to get the results out. You need to become knowledgeable and an expert in your particular topic and you need to produce the products yourself.

Why You Should Avoid Using Pop Ups

It seems that whenever you visit a website there is always some kind of pop-up that appears. In this article I want to discuss why you should avoid using pop-ups and how it can be detrimental to your visitor relationships.
There are many accounts of people using pop-ups in their Internet marketing business and they have seen an increase in people responding to the particular message that they have in their pop-up.
Generally people use it as a way to offer something to their readers to encourage them to sign up to their email campaign.
Although pop-ups are popular and can increase the number of subscribers to your campaign I believe they can impact the relationship or at least the initial relationship that you build with your potential prospects negatively.
Personally I find them really annoying especially when they appear after I have already begun reading and then block my view. I know I am not the only one there are many other people who feel like this.
Therefore for my own website I have to ask myself the question "do I want to annoy my visitors?". If your aim is to help other people then last thing you want to do is to annoy them. You might get more subscribers, you might even make more money but if you are annoying people then it doesn't fit in with your purpose - to help others.
I know there will be plenty of people who say that the benefits outweigh the negatives but for me I want to develop a trusting relationship with my prospects straight away. I don't want to annoy them with a pop-up and I want them to join my email campaign because they have read something I've written that they have found helpful and therefore they want to find out more. I want to develop a more personal trusting relationship from the very start.
Therefore I have looked to see what other types of pop-ups are available and fortunately there are many less distracting and annoying ones. There are many available that are not in your face and don't distract visitors from reading anything on your website and therefore I am happy to use those.
With so many non intrusive pop-ups available there is no excuse to be annoying your visitors. Have a look at your own website and see if you can be more thoughtful with your choice of pop-up.

Customer Service Tips - How to Build Better Relationships With Your Customers

Your customers are the most important part of your business. Therefore building really strong relationships with them should be something that you work on and develop. In this article I am going to share some tips that you can use to develop stronger relationship with your customers.
When you are working online and have an Internet business building solid relationships with your customers can be a bit more difficult than an off-line business. Since you are unable to meet your customer face-to-face you have to rely purely on virtual communication.
This might be through an email, on your website, a video or an article. Therefore learning to communicate effectively is very important for you to build relationships with your customers.
I believe that one of the best ways to develop trusting relationships with your customers is to use email. This is where people join your subscriber list and you then send emails using an auto responder account.
The important thing to remember is that every email you send must add value. Here are some tips on how to add value.
Personalise
When you write your email make sure that you are writing to an individual rather than to your whole list. This means making your email personal and using words that demonstrate you are talking to one person rather than many.
Availability
Being available to your subscribers and customers is probably one of the biggest ways to build better relationships. There are so many support desk's or people who you have to go through to actually speak to the business owner themselves that if you provide personal feedback you will really stand out.
Building a relationship whereby your customers trust you means that they want to be able to rely on you to be there and to answer any questions they might have. Replying to emails in person enables you to do this. It might take up more time but it is well worth it in terms of the quality of relationship you will develop.
Content
Make sure that your emails always contain quality information and content that is going to be valuable to your subscriber. The relationship that you build with your customer needs to be one of mutual respect and therefore you need to demonstrate your expertise so that your customers come to respect you.
Over Deliver
Always over deliver. This means that when you produce a product you deliver more than is expected. It means that when you communicate in your emails you deliver more than is expected. It means that if you receive negative feedback you deliver more than expected. In every aspect you need to make sure that you over deliver.
Feedback
Encourage feedback with your customers whether good or bad. If your customer knows that you value their opinion then you are able to build an honest relationship with them.
Above all be yourself and make sure you treat your customers as you would want to be treated yourself and always go that extra mile

4 Tips On How To Connect With Your Readers

In this article I am going to give you 4 tips on how you can connect more effectively with your readers. If you have a blog or you create content online and you are trying to build an audience then you need to learn how you can best communicate with that audience.
Focus
Everything that you write or create needs to be focused on your audience. After all they are the people who will be reading or watching it and therefore you should always be providing what they need and offering them the help that they will find beneficial. It's not about you it's about your readers what they want.
Imagine that you are a reader and think about the types of content that you would find really helpful and valuable. Try to put yourself in your readers shoes.
Give Freely
If you want to build a responsive audience then you need to learn to give freely. I have often heard people say that if they give too much away and if they share too much valuable information then no one will purchase anything from them. If you give away some of your secrets then why would someone buy your product?
In reality the more you give the more likely people are to purchase from you. The more they will trust you and respect you. The more value they will receive from you and they will want more!
Understand
Another important aspect is to fully understand where your readers are coming from. What is their perspective? What position are they coming from - a novice or a professional? Perhaps you target a wide range and your readers come from varying levels of expertise. Make sure that when you write you add value to all of your readers.
Listening
Connecting with anyone is about listening. Learning to listen what your readers think about things and what their opinions are is really important for you to fully understand where they are coming from. It also enables you to better understand what their difficulties are and what they actually want. This is important when it comes to producing products that your readers will find most beneficial.
Building connections and relationships with prospects and readers of your blog or content that you write online is the foundation for a successful business. If you don't build strong relationships you are unable to build trust and if you don't build trust then people are more unwilling to spend money.

Tips for Finding Quality Outsourcers

There comes a time in any online business whereby you need to begin looking to outsource some of your work. In this article I am going to give you some tips on how to find good quality outsourcers.
If you are finding that you just have too much to do and important parts of your business aren't getting done then you need to look at outsourcing some of that work. It is also a good idea to outsource jobs if you really don't enjoy certain tasks and therefore they aren't getting done.
Here are some of the things you need to think about when you are looking for an outsourcer.
Do they have the same values
Your business will be built on core values that you have. Therefore it is imperative that you find someone with those same values. For example, if you decide to outsource some of your content writing then you need to make sure that you find someone who gives their work the same care and attention that you do. Someone who will write their content in a way that matches your own style. If you write content to help others then you need to find someone else who will write content for that same reason.
In other areas of your business it becomes even more important that people have the same values as you. Especially if you outsource tasks that involve dealing directly with your customers.
Do they have the skills
This may seem obvious but you need to find someone who has the skills that you are looking for. This means that you need to fully understand yourself what skills are needed for the particular tasks that you want to outsource. When you have done that job yourself it is far easier to know what those skills are.
Look at your audience
One place that you might find suitable outsourcers is by looking at your own list of subscribers or your own audience. It is possible that people following you may have the skills you are looking for. Just because someone may be a customer of yours doesn't mean that they don't have the skills that you are looking for.
Action Plan
When you find someone that you believe will be able to do the task that you want them to do, you really need to make sure that you have an exact plan them follow. There may be some people who are not willing to follow an exact blueprint. Therefore it is important that you make it clear that you expect them to follow your own blueprint so that you know the exact results that they should produce.
Communication
One of the most important aspects of outsourcing is being able to communicate effectively exactly what it is you want from them. This might mean finding and outsourcers who speaks the same language as you.

How to Raise the Profile of Your Business

Whatever business you have online you need to make people aware of it or otherwise you won't make any sales at all. In this article I am going to share with you how you can raise the profile of your own business.
Whether you offer specific products or services to your customers you will need to communicate exactly what it is you offer to your prospects. How well you are able to communicate that message will determine to a great extent how successful you will be.
When you realise that communication is the key to success you can see that building a successful business is in fact about building relationships with people who need what you offer.
There are many ways that you can raise awareness of your business:
writing press releases
writing articles
creating videos
being involved in forums for discussion groups
being involved in social media groups
In all of these cases it is about building relationships with potential prospects. Some of these methods may be geared better towards certain businesses or niches than others. For example, if you are in an artistic niche then you may find that producing a video using your own artistic talent may appeal to your target market more than just writing an article.
Here are some simple tips that you can use to make your marketing efforts more effective:
Keep it simple & Concise
Whatever you communicate make sure that you keep it clear and concise so that your prospects understand exactly what it is that you are trying to communicate.
Engaging
Try to engage your customer so that whatever it is you have written or produced to communicate your message, is such that they will read through or watch through to the end of your video so that they then want to learn more.
Relating
When you create your message try to relate to your customers. This means being able to understand what problems or issues they might be having and being able to convey your solution in words that they would understand and relate to.
Focus on them
It can be tempting to discuss more about what your product is like than what your product will solve and the benefits that people would see if they purchased your product or service. Therefore it is important that you focus on the benefits of your product in relation to your customer.
Whenever you produce material and its purpose is to raise the profile of your business make sure that you are creative in how you communicate your message and always relate to your ideal target customer. Sometimes telling a story can help you to do this.

Three Tips on How to Promote Yourself Online

If you have an online business then you will need to learn how to promote yourself and your business effectively. In this article I am to going to share with you three tips on how to do this.
Identify your target
Think about your online business and what it is exactly that you are able to provide to your customer. If you have already created a product then think about that particular product or service and what benefits there are to people who purchase it.
In order to be effective you have to target your efforts and therefore being able to identify who your target customer is will greatly increase your results.
Who are you trying to target? Who actually needs what it is you have to offer and where are those particular people likely to be found online?
Identifying your unique selling point
When you know who your ideal customer is and exactly why they are ideal, you will need to identify something about your business that is unique so that you can communicate this to your customer.
When there is plenty of competition you need a reason why people should do business with you rather than someone else. What is it about your particular products or services that would appeal to your target customer? Some ideas are:
  • price
  • delivery method
  • customer service
  • product format
  • availability
  • qualifications
  • testimonials
See if you can come up with 10 different aspects of your own business that you could use to differentiate yourself from your competitors.
How to position yourself
You now know who your ideal customer is and you know what it is that you can offer that is unique to your business. Now you need to know how to position yourself so that people will come to you.
Ideally you will want to create a situation whereby your customers are talking about you and your brand and recommending it to others. Therefore everything that you do in your business must add value to your customer.
Being able to position yourself as the ideal person to go to when people who have a particular issue or need particular help with something, will really help you to market your business and raise awareness of your business to a wide audience.
A good way to do this online is to make sure that you gain visibility on a range of websites that your ideal customer is likely to visit. This will send a message to your potential customer that you are an authority in your particular niche and that you are someone who understands what they need.

How to Create an Effective Presentation

Sometimes you may market your business by producing some kind of presentation and if you have an online business then this might be in terms of a webinar or a video demonstrating something specific about your business. In this article I am going to talk about how to ensure that you create an effective presentation.
The start
The most important part of your presentation is of course the start. You need to have something that will really engage your viewers and make them sit up and want to pay attention.
Always start with something engaging before you then introduce yourself and what it is you're going to talk about. Don't talk about yourself first.
Interaction
Have you ever watched a presentation and there seems to have been a monologue conversation that doesn't involve you the person who is watching? Whether you are producing a live presentation or a recorded one you need to engage your audience.
This means asking questions and trying to encourage feedback from those watching your presentation. It doesn't matter if someone is watching a recording because when you ask questions the person watching will still have a sense of you interacting with them.
The main message
When you decide on your presentation make sure you are clear what your message is and what the purpose is of your presentation. If you have too many messages it will be confusing. It is far better to focus on one main point or key phrase that you can go back to again and again throughout your presentation.
If your presentation is about a product then make sure that you mention the products name throughout your presentation.
Tell a story
People love hearing stories and an easy way to engage your audience is to tell a story. This can be a true story for example, you could use a case study, or it can be a fictitious story. The important thing is that your story must be relevant to the message you are trying to convey. It must enhance that message.
The ending
Have you ever watched a presentation and you thought the end was about to come and then it carried on for another 20 minutes? I have and it can be quite frustrating because you get yourself geared up to the end of the presentation and then switch off.
It is really important that when you get to the end you sum up and conclude in a concise and memorable way so that the very last thing that you say is the message that you want your audience to have received.

4 Tips on How to Produce a Successful Sales Strategy

In this article I am going to go through 4 tips that you can use to make sure that your own sales strategy will be successful. You might have produced the best product in the world but if you are unable to sell it then it is irrelevant how good it might be.
Benefits and Features
Think about your product and the kind of issues and help you have focused on solving or providing. It is a good idea to put yourself in your customers position and think about the kind of questions you would want answered and the specific help you would want and how you can relate that to your product.
You need to know exactly what the benefits are and relate those to your ideal customer. Customers are interested about features but the thing that will sell your product are the benefit's of those features.
Therefore whenever you talk about a feature of your product make sure that you back that up with the benefit and try to make that benefit as specific as possible.
Knowing Your Competition
Understanding how your competition sell their products will give you a clue as to what is working and what is not. The key thing is to find out what is working and then improve on that yourself so that you can beat your competition.
Pretend that you are a customer and go to your competitors websites and look at the areas that you feel they could improve on.
For example, you might visit their website and still be left with a question about something to do with their product or service. If this happens then there is a weakness in the communication and you can improve on that for your own customers and your own business.
Often there is no point in reinventing the wheel but rather using what works and then finding the weaknesses and turning those into your strengths.
Knowing Your Market
The more you know exactly who your ideal customer is and therefore exactly who you are marketing to, the more effective your sales strategy will be. Have a clear picture in your mind of who your customer is and create the ideal image of a real individual. Have that image in your mind when you are marketing your business so that you always focus on your ideal customer.
Your sales will always increase when you offer the right product to the right person.
Your Sales Method
How will you get to your sales message across? You will obviously need a web page or a sales page so that you can communicate exactly what it is you have to offer but you also need a way for people to find that sales page.
In my business I use email marketing and that is the method I use to communicate my sales message. Find out what your preferred method will be of being able to communicate to your customers.

Tips on How to Write a Successful Sales Letter

Writing a sales letter is sometimes very difficult to do. Certainly writing your very first one can be quite daunting. In this article I am going to give you some tips on how to write a successful sales pitch.
What Is the Aim
The most important thing is to make sure you know what your aim is. If you are providing a service rather than a product then your aim might be different. A coaching sales letter for example, would be different than a sales letter offering a physical product. One will be more about a person, the coach, whereas the other will be more about a physical product and its benefits.
Your Headline
The very first thing that your customer will see is your headline. Therefore it must grab their attention by stating something that they relate to and will want to find out more. This could be a written statement or it could be a graphic representation.
Engagement
Your headline will provide a reason as to why someone might want to carry on reading your letter. The rest of your sales letter needs to maintain that engagement so that your customer will read all the way through.
Include short paragraphs whereby the end of one paragraph stimulates interest for your reader to start the next paragraph. Having too much writing in large blocks can be off putting and therefore you need to break your writing up.
A way to do this is to include subheadings throughout your sales letter.
Your Product or Service
When you come to describe your actual product or service make sure that you are very clear about what the benefits are. It will be the benefits that encourage people to purchase your product and therefore you need to be very clear what they are and how it relates to improving your customers life.
People buy things based on there being a specific benefit to them.
You will also need to describe some of the features about your product so that your customer will know exactly what they are getting. Make sure that you relate those features to some kind of benefit.
Call to Action
The whole aim of your sales letter will be for someone to make a purchase. Therefore you need to have a clear call to action that tells your visitor exactly what they need to do. Having a few call to actions throughout your sales letter may work well and this is something you would need to test.

How to Sell Your Product When You Don't Like Selling

I have heard so many people say that they hate selling and therefore do not want to start an online business that involves them trying to sell something. Of course the truth is that unless something is sold you won't make any money and therefore the process of selling is very important. In this article I am going to discuss how you can sell your products in a non-sales way.
First of all I will make some assumptions:
  • you are in a niche that you enjoy and are passionate about
  • you are creating your own information products
  • you know exactly the kind of problems your ideal customer has
  • you know exactly what the benefits are to those who purchase your product
In order to be able to sell your product effectively you need to have the above in place. This is even more important if you are going to be able to sell in a way that perhaps you feel more comfortable with.
Helping other people
Imagine that you are talking to a friend and they ask you something about your particular niche. Maybe they want help with something or they want to understand why they should do something in order to improve an area of their life.
I am sure that you would quite happily help them out and offer to share your knowledge with them knowing that it will be of benefit to them and that they will be able to solve the particular issues that they have.
You are helping your friend because you are qualified to do so.
So the question is why should it be any different if it is a customer who has the same issue? You are also qualified to help them. In fact it would be mean of you if you didn't help them or at least offer to help.
Therefore offering a product that you will have created that solves a specific problem and you know will help someone is a good thing to do. I am sure you would have no problem with that so where does the problem lie?
Charging for it
In the example above if you are talking to your friend and helping them then I guess you would not charge them because they have a specific relationship with you that means you are happy to offer them that help for free.
However, if you are running your business to generate income so that you can provide for your family then you need to charge for your help.
Just as your solicitor would charge for their service, just as an optician would charge for their service, just as a tutor would charge for their teaching, it is the same with your business.
You are quite entitled to charge for the help that you are able to provide because you are qualified and have the knowledge that someone else wants to have.
