How to Communicate With Your Prospects

In this article I want to discuss how to communicate so that you start building a strong relationship with prospects, so that you can build trust and build credibility as well.
What you need to remember is that when you build relationships is not about you. It's not about how brilliant you are or what you can offer in a boastful "in your face" way. It's about your customer. It is about what you can provide for them that's going to be beneficial to them.
What can you add to your relationship that is going to show your customer that you are knowledgeable? How will you demonstrate that you are able to help them, you can be trusted and that you are a real person? Someone who is going to be able to give them personal help when they need it.
So always remember that when you communicate, in whatever way that might be, it's not about you, it's always about your customer. Your relationship must be based on providing your customer with everything that they need in order to make an informed decision about doing business with you or making that purchase.
This is a simplified version of the process. You need to communicate so that your prospects understand exactly what it is you offer.
  • What your services are
  • What your products are
  • What kind of solutions your products solve
  • What your values are
  • What benefits customers are going to experience
  • What results they are going to achieve
That's what you need to communicate. You need to communicate the benefit's to your customers so they understand exactly what to expect.
You need to give them a specific call to action when you communicate. It might be a squeeze page for building your list and you want them to give you their name and email address.
It might a sales page and you want them to click the buy button.
It might be in your email campaign and you want them to visit an article you have written.
You need to make sure that whatever the action is that you want your customer or your subscriber to take that you specifically ask them to take that action.
Use instruction words such as:
  • press the button now
  • click here to visit my website
  • download your product by clicking the link below
You need to make it specific and very clear as to what the action is.
You also need to persuade them to take the action. You need to have a reason why they might want to take that action so its got to benefit your customer.
In order to follow to communicate like this you really need to know your customer as much as possible.
