Relationships
The first thing to talk about is the importance of you building a very good and trusting relationship with your customers. If you are the product creator and you are selling information products then this becomes very important since your customers are not just buying your products they are buying 'you'. In other words they are buying your knowledge and expertise. Therefore building a solid trusting relationship and being consistent throughout is extremely important.
Listening
You will far better serve your customers if you learn to listen to what they say. This means that you need to create some form of interactive communication with them so that they are able to communicate back to you. If you are communicating using an email campaign then encourage your subscribers to email you with any questions or concerns that they might have.
Add value
Everyone talks about adding value and it's no wonder because without it your customers will go to someone who does. It is far better to under promise and then over deliver.
When your customers learn that you continually add value they themselves will value you and what you offer them.
Being available
This is really important especially for an online business because when you deal with customers online you are dealing with them virtually. In order to provide your customers with a more real-life experience you need to make sure that you are available for them to contact you.
Be consistent
Make sure that you are always consistent throughout your business. I believe the only way to do this is to be yourself. Don't try to copy anyone else or try to do things that you are not comfortable with because it will come across as insincere.
Customer Support
Whether someone is a first-time buyer or they have yet to buy anything from you, your service and customer support should be first class. Always respond to any enquiry and ideally personally. If anyone request a refund then make sure you fulfil your refund policy and guarantee.
Be the person that you would want to deal with and the person that you would remain a customer with.
