- You need to know exactly what it is that you offer. What your business will be about and the types of people that you are targeting. This needs to be specific not general. What skills do you have that means that you can compete? What is unique about what you offer?
- Once you know what you offer and what the benefits are to your prospects you need to communicate that message effectively to attract your customers. When you have a specific message to communicate you can do so far more effectively. This means that you will attract more qualified prospects and therefore increase your revenue per subscriber.
- Once you have attracted your prospects you needs to find out exactly what they need. This must be done on a regular basis as needs change over time. Someone signing up to your list today will not necessarily have the same need in a few months time. You need to keep on top of what your customers are finding challenging within your niche.
- When you know what your customers need then you must provide a solution to that need. Ideally you should provide the solution yourself as by this stage your customers will have developed a strong relationship with you and therefore will far rather purchase something you have produced yourself.
- When you have your solution ready then you should offer it to your customers. Focus on the benefits and the results they will get if they implement what they need to.
- Rinse and repeat. Continue to find out what people need and offer it to them. However, the most important step of all is to test what you are doing. One change could produce a 50% increase in sales. Every step of your business must be tested until you know you have optimised everything and you are working the most effectively at each stage.
Obviously each step has more than one part to it but these 6 steps above are the foundation of a solid sustainable online business. Since everything online changes as do your prospects, you must keep up with those changes and therefore testing and tracking becomes critical to your overall success.
