In this article I am going to discuss some ideas for making the most of passive income on your website and online presence. Passive income is income you obtain on an ongoing basis with little effort on your part. Therefore it is an easy way to provide you with additional income.
Whenever you create content online always be thinking of ways that you can incorporate some source of passive income.
Relevant affiliate links
If you mention a product or tool that you use or others could use to make their job easier in some way then make sure that you link to it with an affiliate link. This only works if the items you link to are of good quality and are relevant to your visitor.
Guest posts
If you write posts for other sites ask them if you are able to use affiliate links within your post. Some sites might not allow this but others may well do especially if the links are going to be valuable to the readers.
Amazon links
Often when running an information business marketers are so focused on digital products that they forget the huge potential there is for physical products too!
Linking to products on Amazon is a great way to let Amazon do what they are good at and that is selling!
Think about your particular niche and I am sure you will be able to come up with many physical products that would be beneficial to your target market and perhaps you already use them yourself!
Your own products
If you refer to a topic and you already have a product related to that topic then don't forget to include your own sales page links. This works well in ebooks that you give away for free.
Just make sure that you don't overload any ebook with so many links that it looks obvious that you are trying to make money out of your ebook! Two or three work well.
Remember that the primary focus for anything to do with your business is to help others achieve something.
If you do use affiliate links then make sure that you use the appropriate legal pages and statements so that people are aware that you could receive a commission. Being totally transparent will not harm your reputation.
The key point to take away is to ask yourself - will adding a link here be helpful to my visitor? If the answer is yes then add one that has the potential to make you some money at the same time.
