How to Get Business Partners for Your Home Business

Set a Realistic Goal
Now that you have a home business, you want to find partners. There are several ways to find MLM leads. You can prospect at home with people you know, use internet marketing skills, or you can purchase targeted leads from a lead broker. You start out eager and on fire only to find that most people are not interested in what you have to offer. When this happens, many new distributors soon suffer from depression and quit the first year. Since only about 2-5% of the people they contact will share their vision, that is a lot of rejection! Actually they were quite successful in finding 2-5 new partners as a result of 100 contacts! If you set your goal for a 2-5% success rate instead of looking at it as a 95% failure, you will soon see yourself in a whole new light. If you happen to exceed your goal then plan a celebration! You can grow your business by sorting through your targeted leads to find the right people to join your team.
Be Selective
You will have to make a lot of telephone calls to your MLM leads in your search to find the right people to join your team. I make a quick telephone call to each prospect to see if they might be interested in my business opportunity. I ask if they are willing to listen to a 15 minute telephone presentation and I give them the number to call. I ask one small favor. They are to call me back and give me their feedback. If they call me back I will try to get to know them and use my closing skills. Unless I hear a sincere desire to own their own home business though, I need to move on. I do not beg them to join me. I am doing them a favor not the other way around. I am offering them the opportunity to join me in my business and I am offering to mentor them for free until they can build their business by themselves.
Who Am I Looking For?
Now that you have completed your search with your MLM leads, hopefully you have chosen people who are motivated to change their lives and become financially secure. There are three types of distributors however. "Go now" people are those rare finds that will grow their business with or without your help. They are driven to succeed and sometimes you just need to stand back and watch them grow their business. You ideally want to scatter them throughout your business. The majority of your partners will either be "stable" or "waiting" meaning slow growth or no growth. Be kind to these people because someday they will probably surprise you. When the time is right their businesses can suddenly start to grow.
How Do I Communicate With My Team?
Once you have a team they need to be trained and motivated. If they consist of local people you can have meetings and celebration parties. If they are not local people, you could also Skype with them on your computer or spend Face time with them on your cell phone. The best way to get your business partners to know each other and pull together as a team is by creating your own group on Facebook. Your team members can post their successes, ask questions, make comments, welcome new members, and encourage each other. It is also a good way to promote your business by inviting new prospects to join your group and chat with other partners.
One Final Note
Good luck in your new venture and I wish you every success. Stay positive and hold onto your dreams! MLM leads will only choose to follow someone who is proud of what they do and 100% convinced that their business is a great opportunity. You may need to redefine your definition of success when you encounter several no's. Just remember that those no's are just putting you one step closer to your next yes.

Four Hidden Home Business Expenses

Four Extra Expenses for an Online MLM Business
When we started our first online MLM home business the initial cost to become a distributor was within our small business budget. Another expected expense was for us to buy products on a regular basis for our own personal use. If we were going to sell products we needed to be using them ourselves so that we could speak from experience. We ended up with four more unexpected home business expenses that made our list of home business expenses much longer. We ended up taking out a business loan. At least we were able to use these new expenses as tax deductions.
So here is our list of four unexpected home business expenses:
1. New Computer and Laptop
We realized right away how old our computer was because we needed more speed and a lot more memory. Our first big expense was a new desktop computer. Since I wanted to take my work with me, I bought our first laptop computer as well.
2. New Printer, Paper, Ink
Our printer had been working fine at the time of our online MLM business investment but gave up the ghost shortly afterwards. We went shopping and found a printer more suitable for a business. It had more features than our old one plus it had a fax machine component. My husband likes to print everything and keep hard copies so we needed a lot more paper and ink.
3. New Home Phones and Cell Phones
We found out that our home telephones could not hold the charge for an hour long webinar so they needed replaced as well. Our cell phones were upgraded to iPhones so we could down load some of the business software, send emails, and use Face time to speak to new prospects.
4. Leads: Buy Them or Generate Our Own?
We realized that selling to family and friends was not going to grow our business large enough or fast enough to offset our growing expenses. We listened to our mentor and paid a high price for 15 targeted leads. Several of those leads were bad and had to be replaced but the people we were able to contact had no money and no interest in our business. Since leads were so expensive, we decided to invest our money in schooling instead to learn how to generate our own targeted leads. The idea was to find people who were already interested in what we had to offer plus we would have a much larger market. We paid for the schooling in monthly installments rather than trying to increase our business loan.
Since we had not anticipated these extra costs, we really weren't prepared to have our bills pile up so rapidly. Anyone who is serious about having a small home business needs to be aware that starting out with a shoe string budget like we did usually will not work. My advice is to be sure that you have backup money available in order handle any unanticipated online MLM business expenses.
